Departmental Share - K: Drive

 [Printer Friendly Version]

Every department is allocated 500 Mb of network space to be shared among its members, commonly referred to as K: drive. The files in this storage space are backed up on a nightly basis.

If your department has requested for you to have access to this resource, K: drive is mapped to your account automatically and shows up under My Computer when logging on the computers on the UTA domain.

You can also map this drive manually if you are connected to the UTA network using VPN (off campus) or encrypted wireless (on campus). An alternative to mapping the drives would be accessing it using FTP software.  Before you attempt to access your K: drive remotely find out on which server your department share is located.  Most of the time it is the same as your J: drive server.

Map your K: drive on Windows

Mount your K: drive on Mac

Access your K: drive using FTP software
