Faculty Issues and Challenges

 Objectives

  1. Consider the welfare, rights, career goals and needs of UTA faculty
  2. Identify issues that will impact and/or be of concern to the faculty adapting to fall semester back to campus needs by August 1
  3. Identify impact of issues on career progression (tenure, research, etc.)

Deliverables

  1. Conduct a faculty survey to get input directly from those who will be impacted
  2. Prepare a prioritize list of faculty issues and challenges and recommend actions on each
  3. Review the COVID website for faculty and staff and make suggestions for additional information that might be included
  4. Review the list of suggested teaching-related training provided by CRTLE/CDE and make recommendations for additional needs.

Staff Issues and Challenges

Operating beneath the Faculty Issues and Challenges Sub-Task Force is a subgroup focused on challenges specifically related to the work and wellbeing of staff.

 Objectives

  1. Consider the welfare, rights, career goals and needs of UTA staff
  2. Provide resolution for concerns regarding a return to campus work environment
  3. Ensure staff have required support, supplies and technology needed to telecommute
  4. Increase effective and timely communications with staff
  5. Ensure staff spaces are maintained for cleanliness and healthfulness
  6. Address the spread of misinformation among staff
  7. Provide access to resources regarding employee rights
  8. Increase awareness of applications available to support remote teamwork
  9. Ensure communications are accessible to all staff within the bounds of ADA standards and for staff not fluent in English
  10. Consider staff working in alternate locations such as Fort Worth and Austin

Deliverables

  1. Conduct and report on a survey of UTA staff
  2. Make recommendations on UTA’s website and communications surrounding return to work, telecommuting and staff concerns
  3. Establish a feedback loop for staff concerns regarding returning to work, telecommuting and staff concerns
