Defender Advanced Threat Protection

Project Overview

The University of Texas at Arlington is changing our end-point management anti-virus software to Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP). This software will replace Trend Micro OfficeScan and become the official anti-virus solution that protects Windows, Mac, Linux, desktops, laptops, and servers. The purpose of this project is to ensure compliance with Texas Administrative Code 202 (TAC 202) and UT System UTS-165 (UTS 165) by installing and enabling a robust anti-virus software with the appropriate configurations to safeguard university information and data.

• Provides Increased Security that detects, investigates, and responds to advanced threats such as viruses, malware, and spyware. 
• Offers a Multi-Platform Solution that provides threat and vulnerability management for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and all enterprise assets. 
• Improves Operational Efficiency as it automatically investigates and offers advanced solutions for quick responses. 
• Eliminates Redundancy by integrating fully with existing Microsoft platforms, which allows for consolidation of services and cost reductions.
