Adobe Acrobat Document Cloud (DC) refers to various Adobe applications for creating, editing, sharing, and printing PDF files on mobile and desktop devices.

Users can utilize various tiers of Acrobat when working with PDFs:

  • Acrobat Reader - A free tool to view, print, share, and comment on PDFs
  • Acrobat Pro - A licensed, upgraded version of Reader with advanced tools
  • Adobe Scan - A free mobile app document scanner used to scan and automatically create PDFs for use in Acrobat

Getting Access

Employees

Acrobat Reader and Adobe Scan are free options for accessing basic tools for PDF files. However, if you edit PDFs by combining files, redacting, or creating forms, you will need an Acrobat Pro license.

UTA employees can request an Acrobat Pro license by completing an Employee Access Request. The request will be reviewed and, if approved, an Acrobat Pro license will be granted. Please note: Acrobat Pro is included in the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite.

Students

Students can access Acrobat Pro via the Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, but not as a standalone service.

Cost

Acrobat Pro is funded centrally for departmental use upon request.
