Standard Systems and Solutions

The standard computing systems available are meant to meet a UTA user’s regular day-to-day needs for computing. Standard systems can also be appropriate for teaching and research needs as well, but if you have a specialized case we encourage you to seek consulting either through the academic computing or research computing support teams.

Where to Purchase

All standard configurations are available through the Mav eShop.

Dell

Explore our range of Dell business-grade systems, including the OptiPlex, Latitude, and Precision series, conveniently available for order on the Mav eShop site under the 'Dell - Summus' section. These devices come pre-configured with standard software and an asset tag. Additionally, desktops come with a standard wired keyboard and mouse. For personalized device quotes, simply submit the Hardware or Software Recommendation form here.

When purchasing from Dell – Summus via the Mav eShop, both desktops and laptops come with a bundled 4-year warranty. While we highly recommend the tested prepackaged bundles available for you in the Mav eShop, you have the flexibility to request a custom quote through the Hardware or Software Recommendation form here should you need different hardware or a specific price point.

Apple

You can find Apple systems including the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, and iPad. These desktops, laptops, and tablets are available for purchase through the Mav eShop site under the 'Apple - UT Arlington Only' section. We recommend purchasing a 4-year warranty when buying any of these devices.

Microsoft Surface

For Microsoft products such as the Surface Book, Surface Laptop, Surface Pro, and Surface Go, please request a custom quote via the Recommend Hardware or Software form here. Include your device specification requirements and whether you want to include the 3-year warranty or not.

Microsoft Surface Hubs can be ordered through the Mav eShop ‘SHI’ section. A $26 monthly Teams license fee will be required to use the Teams functionality of the device. Additionally, when ordering Surface Hubs, note that the device itself is included for the listed price, while the camera, stand, and backup battery are sold separately.

Group Printing

Browse our selection of standard network printers available via Mav eShop > SHI Portal > Company Standards > Printers. Purchasing a printer through the Mav eShop SHI portal includes a bundled 3-year manufacturer support. The support includes either unit exchange or on-site service depending on the model.
