  1. Why is UTA replacing Cat 5 cabling?

    • Existing Cat 5e infrastructure has exceeded its lifespan and no longer reliably supports campus network needs.

     

  2. What improvements will this provide?

    • The upgrade to Cat 6 cabling supports modern high speed network connectivity and is designed to meet current and near future campus networking needs

     

  3. Will there be outages during installation?

    • Some brief disruptions may occur during Phase 2. The work will be coordinated with building stakeholders to minimize impact.

     

  4. Will new network drops be added?

    • No. This program replaces existing cabling only.
