UTA Guest Network

The UTA Guest SSID remains available to support visitors, contractors and other non-affiliated users requiring temporary access. As part of our network improvement efforts, UTA Guest is being enhanced with one-time passcode (OTP) authentication to improve network security by ensuring access is tied to a valid email address or phone number.

When a user connects to UTA Guest, they are directed to a secure portal where they are prompted to:

  • Enter basic identifying information (name and email)
  • Select a delivery method for one-time passcode (email or text message)
  • Enter the six-digit OTP to complete authentication

Once authenticated, devices will maintain network access for 23 hours before requiring re-authentication. For security purposes, issued passcodes expire after 10 minutes if not used.

The goal is to implement the UTA Guest SSID before the start of the Fall 2026 semester.
