SecureConnector will be installed on devices in phases based on operating system. OIT will notify the campus community with installation dates and more information when available. A compliance enforcement rollout will begin in Spring 2024.

Completed installation:

  • Nov. 17, 2023 - SecureConnector deployed to UTA-owned and managed Windows devices.
  • Jan. 8, 2024 - SecureConnector deployed to UTA-owned and managed Mac devices.

Enforcement phase:

Beginning February 2024, devices that do not meet security compliance standards will not be allowed to access UTA resources. A device is considered non-compliant if it does not have the following:

  • Antivirus software
  • Encryption
  • Critical software and security updates
  • A current, registered operating system

If your device is found to be non-compliant, you will receive a screen pop-up approximately one week in advance for Windows or Mac devices. The pop-up will include information for compliance remediation.

The compliance enforcement will rollout via individual building. The Library Collections Depository (LCD) has been selected as a test site for initial enforcement. A campuswide enforcement rollout will follow the test phase. Wired devices will receive the first wave of enforcement, with wireless devices scheduled upon wired completion. Communication will be sent to impacted locations as needed.
